35th Annual Celebration at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck · Houston, TX
Date: Tuesday, March 17, 2026
Hours: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Stages: Two — one inside, one outside
We consider every day worth celebrating — but as an Irish-inspired pub that’s called Houston home for decades, St. Patrick’s Day holds an extra-special place in our hearts. This year marks our 35th annual celebration, and we’re pulling out all the stops.
The festivities kick off when award-winning piper EJ Jones heralds the day from the rooftop, piping in duckers from far and wide. Come hungry, come thirsty, and come ready to celebrate Irish culture the right way.
You won’t want to miss the Duck’s signature menu:
We’ll be pouring generous pints of Guinness Stout, Harp Lager, and Smithwick’s Irish Ale. And no — there will be no green beer. As most of you know, real Irish beer is black, not green.
Performers will play on both the indoor and outdoor stages throughout the day.
A bagpiper, a bouzouki player, and a drummer walk into an Irish pub — and they proceed to rock the joint. The Piper Jones Band brings foot-stomping Celtic music to Houston’s premiere Irish party.
One of the most-asked questions about our St. Patrick’s Day celebration: “When are the dancers?” Always a highlight. Established in 2016 and registered with the Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin, Clann Kelly dancers will put you in the spirit of the day under the direction of Anna Kelly.
Ed Miller has been hailed as “one of the finest singers to come out of the Scottish Folksong Revival” and as “One of Scotland’s best singing exports.” Originally from Edinburgh, he has for many years been based in Austin, TX where he gained graduate degrees in Folklore and Geography at the University of Texas.
Hard-driving, toe-tapping Texas Celtic sound. Piper EJ Jones and fiddler Gregory McQueen lead with full musical force, joined by Al Cofrin on cittern and bagpipes. Singer-percussionist Emily Dugas captivates with original songs and three-part harmonies.
Irish singer-songwriter Pat Byrne has been winning over American audiences since his breakout at SXSW, the 30A Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, and the Americana Festival. His raspy, melodic voice and distinctly Irish songwriting put him in the league of Glen Hansard and Luka Bloom.
Minister of Entertainment for the Kerr County Celtic Association, Martin Burniston guarantees plenty of craic. He’ll have you singing along to “Molly Malone” in no time.
With over 30 years of combined teaching experience, the instructors of The Cass-Barrington Academy have produced champion and podium placing dancers at the local, Regional, National, and World level.
All tickets are non-refundable · Rain or shine
Weather Notice: We will not have a tent this year. All tickets are non-refundable regardless of weather. We’re praying for sunshine and ask that you do the same — if it rains, we all get soaked together!
Whether you’re a longtime Mucky Duck regular or a visitor passing through Houston, we invite you to join us — in person or via Livestream — to raise a glass and celebrate the Feast of St. Patrick.
“May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light —
and may you find yourself at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck.”
