Sara Van Buskirk is a singer songwriter from Houston, Texas whose work is known for raw, commanding vocals, emotional depth, and vivid lived-in storytelling. Sara’s influences from Janis Joplin to Chopin creates music that is fearless and soul-stirring. SVB’s discography includes the 2010 debut The Place Where You Are, the 2020 single Can Wee Friends?, 2024’s dual & visual release Light Me Up, and 2025’s JUST WON’T STOP, accompanied by a video created with artist-activist Lynzy Lab.

A sought-after collaborator, Sara has written with Grammy Award Winners Kam Franklin as well as Kevin Morby. Sara is currently touring with Kam Franklin (of The Suffers) for her solo debut album Land of The Neon Sun, produced by Margo Price. She also performs with Geoffrey’s Electric Banjo Band, an experimental fusion project led by Geoffrey Muller. Sara has also collaborated with Allison Russell, Emmylou Harris, Brittany Howard, Brandi Carlile, and more as part of the Tennessee Freedom Singers.

She is the founder of Georgia Park Studios, a two-time SACI Grant recipient, and a Houston Arts Alliance grantee. Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and Billboard. A voting member of The Recording Academy, SVB continues to push the boundaries of roots music.
