Owen Temple Celebrates a New Album at the Mucky Duck
Texas-born troubadour Owen Temple has spent decades mining the landscapes of America – its geography and its heart – for songs that resonate with both the open road and the intimate details of everyday life. Known for his blend of folk sensibility and honky-tonk punch, Temple’s music captures the rugged beauty of small towns, family ties, and moments of quiet revelation. This October 22 show is an album release celebration on the eve of his new full-length record.
From his breakout General Store in the late ’90s, through critically acclaimed releases like Dollars and Dimes – which topped the Euro Americana Chart in 2009 – to 2023’s Rings on a Tree, Temple has built a catalog of deeply reflective music that speaks to a wide audience. The Italian music blog Roots Highway recently called him “one of the leading names on the Texas scene.”
Throughout 2026, Temple has released a steady series of new singles that will be collected on the new album, along with a few never-before-heard tracks. Produced by Gordy Quist, the record features songs written with longtime collaborators including Walt Wilkins and Kelley Mickwee. Each single has been paired with an original watercolor painted by Temple himself, and the full collection is gathered in a new art book, Watch It Shine: Selected Drawings, Watercolors, and Lyrics – available at the show alongside vinyl and CDs.
Expect an evening of songs that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant, with Temple’s lyrical wisdom and down-to-earth charm carrying the room.
