Texas Artist Matt Tedder Announces New Album Light Touch

Austin-based singer-songwriter Matt Tedder will release Light Touch, the follow-up to 2023’s I Can Dream You. Recorded at Austin’s Finishing School with Gordy Quist (Band of Heathens) and Jim Vollentine, the album blends classic country traditions with Tedder’s modern, understated style.

A Fort Worth native with deep blues roots, Tedder honed his craft in Nashville before returning to Texas and immersing himself in classic dancehall culture. Since moving to Austin in 2025, he’s become a fixture of the city’s country dance scene, performing weekly at venues like Sagebrush.

“‘Light Touch’ is about playing and singing with more subtlety—and letting go of trying to control everything,” Tedder says.

With groove-driven arrangements and heartfelt storytelling, Light Touch showcases Tedder’s evolution as one of Texas’s most promising country voices.
