About the event

Feeling lost in the cosmos? Welcome to the vortex. Judy Blank — eclectic European indie sensation and impossible-to-categorize storyteller — is pulling you in. The blue-eyed Dutch songstress invites you into Big Mood, her most ambitious work yet: a world painted in pastel hues, checkered floors, and dinosaurs, where nostalgia collides with the unexpected and every song feels like a scene from a film you wish you were living in.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Blank grew up enchanted by classic American cinema — the flickering haze of desert sunsets, endless open roads, misfits chasing meaning. After making waves across Europe’s club circuits and major festivals with her offbeat storytelling and razor-sharp wit, that obsession with the American dream pulled her to Nashville, where she recorded her ’70s-inspired debut, Morning Sun. The record earned international recognition, praise from Elton John, and an RIAA Gold Award for folk ballad Tangled Up in You. She then made history as the first Dutch artist to play AmericanaFest — proving she could hold her own in the old-school big leagues while still being the most interesting person in the room.

After relocating to the U.S., Blank wasted no time expanding her cult following — touring with SUSTO and Wild Child, opening for Noah Kahan and Flipturn, supporting Michael Marcagi and Katie Pruitt across Europe, and playing Willie Nelson’s legendary Luck Reunion. Her singular, genre-defying artistry caught the right ears: she was signed to Rounder Records, who will release Big Mood this August. Lead single Dinosaurs — synth-drenched and boldly new — announced the next chapter. Since its release, she’s landed features in Clash Magazine, No Depression, and Variety, cracked the Top 10 of Spotify’s Fresh Folk playlist, and been named DJ Pick of the Week on Nashville’s leading indie station, Lightning 100.

Blank refuses to be boxed in. One moment she’s hushing a festival crowd like a ’70s folk poet; the next she’s shaking up a club with a fuzzed-out ’60s bop soaked in ’80s synths, forever floating between eras. But nostalgia is never the point — her songs move like a restless camera, capturing love, longing, and the quiet battles no one else will name. Mental health, climate change, social injustice: she shines a light where others look away, always in the corner of the underdog.

Press play, roll credits. Judy Blank is a cult classic in the making — and this is only the beginning.
