Austin-based musician Guy Forsyth was born in Denver, Colorado in 1968. He landed in Texas in 1990, playing dive bars and busking on the UT campus until he found his way onto Sixth Street.

Clifford Antone signed him to Antone’s Records after a ten-year Sunday residency and multiple Austin Chronicle Best Blues Band wins.

Forsyth went on to found the Asylum Street Spankers, a theatrical acoustic outfit that tore through Austin’s music scene, and later fronted the Hot Nut Riveters.

Along the way he’s shared stages with BB King, Ray Charles, and Ben Harper, toured Europe extensively, and won Austin Male Vocalist of the Year.

Twenty-some records in, he’s still writing, still touring, and still one of Austin’s true originals.
