Willy Porter
Guitar-driven. Soulful. Unforgettable.
Willy Porter’s musical odyssey spans over two decades, 13 albums, and countless miles across North America and Europe. Known for his electrifying live shows and signature blend of guitar mastery and soulful storytelling, Porter continues to captivate audiences with songs that reflect a deep empathy for the human experience.
A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Porter emerged from the late-’80s Midwest music scene with his debut The Trees Have Soul. His breakout album Dog Eared Dream (1994) propelled him onto national stages, including tours with Tori Amos, Sting, and Jeff Beck. Since then, he’s built a fiercely loyal following with critically acclaimed albums like Falling Forward, High Wire Live, and Human Kindness.
In 2005, Porter launched his independent label Weasel Records, producing his own work as well as projects by artists like Natalia Zukerman and Carmen Nickerson. His collaborations with Nickerson—including Bonfire to Ash (2016)—showcase their seamless musical chemistry and a shared passion for storytelling.
Beyond music, Porter is committed to causes close to home. He’s raised over $100,000 through benefit concerts for Advocates of Ozaukee and serves as an ambassador for Guitars for Vets, bringing music into the lives of veterans.
Whether on stage or in the studio, Porter remains a fearless performer whose craft continues to evolve—rooted in heart, humanity, and the enduring power of song.
