About the event

Anna La Mare
Singer-songwriter Anna La Mare has been described as “emotional honey,” “folky Florence and the Machine,” “indie Joan Baez” and “a soul-driven embodiment of Joni Mitchell.”

Her haunting folk Americana, touched by Celtic, Appalachian, and jazz influences, is as vulnerable as it is brave, offering you a home within her stormy and poetic soundscape.

With her ghostly, road-worn and soulful voice, La Mare (Lah MAH-ray) sings the stories she’s picked up in her travels, enlivening the wanderer in every listener.

Rachel Laven
Rachel Laven is a “country fried folk” artist whose music is steeped in the Texas songwriting tradition.  Her sound was shaped by her cherished influences: Susan Gibson, Brandi Carlile, Guy Clark, and Sheryl Crow and through years of performing, writing, and honing her craft in the rich musical landscape of Texas.

Raised in a musical family in San Antonio, Laven began performing at a young age, writing her first song at 10 and recording a debut album with her family’s band, The Lavens, by age 13. Her early start laid the foundation for a presence onstage that is markedly sincere, assured, and soulful.

Laven’s breakthrough came with her 2016 win at the prestigious New Folk Songwriting Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. That same year she released Love & Luccheses, her sophomore solo album that showcases her warm vocals and her economical ability to craft intimate lyrics that explore love in all its forms.

Matt Harlan
Harlan’s characters often seem lost in a world controlled by more powerful forces, struggling to get through another day and trying to find meaning and purpose that may not exist. To his credit, he doesn’t claim to have all the answers. “We’re just trying to be the best beasts we can be,” he sings in the title track. “And find a way to sleep, don’t dig too deep.”– Paul T. Mueller, Americana One

Recording and releasing new collections every few years, his first four studio albums drew ample praise from national and international Americana music lovers – landing in ears and on charts – setting the stage for the 2019 release of “Best Beasts” his fifth record to date.
