A mixture of country, murder, and stars, Runaway Revival is a unique blend of Gothic Americana/folk. Fueled by tight harmonies and guitar picking, this dynamic Houston-based trio hints at Aoife O’Donovan, I’m With Her, and the vintage 3-part harmony of the Andrew Sisters.
The group is comprised of the multi-talented Ashely Bandara, Angie Goeke, and Alfred Williford. Ashley, born in Houston and raised in the country just outside, has sung with bands ranging in genre from alternative rock to jazz. She currently writes and records faith-based music with the band Ash Rising. Angie, originally from Austin, TX, is a recording artist, who has sung for the likes of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 6th street ska bands, and in the studio for various bands and recording projects.
Her solo singer/songwriting career includes multiple folk and Americana albums, the most recent recorded in Nashville and produced by Mary Bragg. Clear Lake, TX native Alfred Williford has been crafting his seasoned guitar skills for 15 years. His diversified playing is evident in the wide range of bands he joins, from modern jazz to rock-and-roll. Runaway Revival highlights his sultry vocal stylings, layered with the exquisite female vocals of Ashley and Angie. The combination of the three is an entertaining and wistful musical experience.
