This Lady Love Project grew out of an initial hang around Andrea’s kitchen table, lots of wine, stories, and songs. It led to an improvised show at C-Boys Heart & Soul where the girls found a receptive and excited audience. So them came back and performed again. Swapping stories and songs, the PAACK returned again and the room began to fill. Since the start of their residency at C-Boys, they have performed on local webcasts, house concerts and local clubs. As their schedules began to overlap, they invited other Austin Women into the PAACK, embracing sisterhood in song with the philosophy “there is always more room at the table.”
Each woman fronts her own musical project, PAACK – Paige DeChausse of The Reverent Few, Andrea Magee of Beat Root Revival & Andrea Magee & Tribe, Amanda Darnell of Ruby Dice, Cari Hutson of Cari Hutson & Good Company, & Kelly Green of Madam Radar are all fierce lone wolves in their own projects. On Monday nights, you can find them sitting side by side, in a song swap of originals and covers, girl crushing, cursing, and talking about what it’s like to be a woman in music these days.
The PAACK also includes a rotating cast of characters supporting them each week. Dave Scher, Hunter St. Marie and Nick Boettcher rotate guitar slinging and Michael Davila holds down drumming duties. Another recent addition to the PAACK includes multi-instrumentalist Katie Marie on drums or bass.
